“Small Actions. Big Impact. A Waste-Free Future Starts With Us.”

Welcome to the Waste-Wise Rangers, a team of young changemakers from The Indian Public School, Trichy committed to building a responsible and sustainable community. Through our PYP Exhibition journey, we explored one powerful idea:How can we reduce waste and make better choices for our planet?

Our mission is simple yet impactful

  • Reduce waste
  • Reuse creatively
  • Inspire responsible living
  • Together, we believe that every small step can lead to meaningful change

    About us

We are the Waste-Wise Rangers, a group of passionate Grade 5 learners working under the guidance of our mentor as part of the PYP Exhibition 2026.As inquirers and action-takers, we collaborated, researched, and created solutions to tackle real-world problems related to waste management.

    What makes us different?

  • Reduce waste
  • Reuse creatively
  • Inspire responsible living
  • Founders & Mentors

The Waste-Wise Rangers is a student-led initiative guided by dedicated mentors who supported and inspired every step of this journey. Together, we worked as a team to turn ideas into meaningful action for a sustainable future.

    Our Shared Vision

Together, founders and mentors worked with one common goal, to build a community that is aware, responsible, and committed to reducing waste for a better future.

    Our Initiatives

We divided our work into three focused departments to create practical, real-world solutions:

Eraser Dust Clay [“Don’t erase it—recreate it!”]

We transformed everyday classroom waste—eraser dust—into reusable clay. Impact This initiative helps reduce micro-waste in classrooms by transforming discarded materials into something useful. It encourages students to think creatively while fostering responsible habits of reuse in their daily learning environment.

Eco Bricks [“Pack it tight, build it right!”]

We created eco bricks by filling plastic bottles with non-biodegradable waste. This initiative helps reduce plastic pollution, promotes long-term reuse of materials, and encourages active community participation in sustainable practices.

Our Community Collaboration["No Food Waste Initiative"]

No Food Waste is a non-profit organization that collects surplus, untouched food from events and distributes it to people in need. Founded in Coimbatore in 2014, the organization now feeds around 1000–1200 people daily and has expanded its presence across multiple cities, including Trichy, making a meaningful impact in reducing hunger and food waste.

    Research & Findings

Through surveys, expert interactions, and careful observations, we discovered that large amounts of waste are generated every day, while awareness about effective waste management remains limited. However, we also found that adopting simple, consistent habits can significantly reduce waste and create a positive environmental impact. Knowledge leads to action—and action leads to change

    Action Taken

Our journey moved beyond learning into meaningful action, as we created sustainable products such as eraser dust clay and eco bricks, conducted awareness drives, collaborated with an NGO, and inspired both peers and community members to adopt responsible practices.

    Impact So Far

These efforts have led to increased awareness within the school, active student participation in sustainable initiatives, and the growth of an eco-conscious community committed to making a difference.
